Derrick Bakunzi is a man on a special mission. A mission to propel Strikers to the top tier!

When Challengers decided to employ one of their promising gems to their junior side, Strikers, naysayers looked at this as a sign of demotion to the former U19 National captain.

However, none the less the sallying batsman is tormenting teams in the second tier and Wanderers are the latest to have a taste of his ruthless game.

Wanderers' seamers didn't quite have much on a motivated batting lineup of Strikers. Bakunzi struck a brutal century of 140 off 67 balls, fueling his side to 398 in their 50 allotted overs, winning by a commanding 271 runs Sunday at Budo oval.

Rogers Olipa came a few runs shot from a century knocking a none the less score of 83 off 38 balls to set a daunting target of 399 for Denis Musali and Co whose decision to bowl first would only frustrate them.

Musali had a go on bat smashing 26 off 31 not out as Abishek Mashru posted 25 off 68 balls but this did not quite move the scoreboard enough for Richard Agamire and Simon Oketcho were sublime with the ball picking 4 and 3 wickets respectively for Strikers and in the end the former were restricted to 127 by the 34 over.

The win confirmed strikers leaders on the log with 21 points ahead of Premier who have played fewer games.
