USPA president Sabiiti Muwanga lauded Nile Breweries for the continued support

Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) activities have been boosted with sh160m from Nile Breweries in a one-year renewable sponsorship deal.

The sponsorship extends Nile Special's partnership with USPA to almost a decade and the sh160m will help the sports journalists body organise the annual gala besides their monthly activities.

"We are delighted to partner with USPA. There are so many great things in sports we know in Uganda because of USPA and we are delighted to be associated with them," Nile Special sponsorship manager Francis Nyende stated.

"Sports unites people regardless of their ethnic, religion or ideology and USPA inspires us by promoting sports," he added.

According to Nyende, sh100m will be for the annual gala due in July at Imperial Royale Hotel, sh45m will go to the quarterly dinners and sh15m will be a retainer to USPA.

USPA president Sabiiti Muwanga lauded Nile Breweries for the continued support and urged them to maintain the partnership.

Muwanga also explained that the monthly winners will be crowned on a quarterly basis instead of the monthly arrangment.

The partnership signing was witnessed by former USPA president Douglas Mazune.
