Sseguya trims rugby squad

The national rugby team coach Robert Sseguya has dropped twenty players after their training camp in Kakamega Kenya.

The squad will be trimmed further to 30 players after next weekend's trials at Kyadondo Rugby Club against the Barbarians as the team prepares for the Elgon Cup against Kenya on June 10 in Kampala.

However, coach Sseguya advised those dropped to continue training and maintain their fitness and game conditioning in case they are called up to replace any injured player.

When contacted, Sseguya said, "Yes it is true we trimmed the team but it is not me to give you the list. Contact the team manager Emma Baine."

According to the list seen by the New Vision players dropped include; David Agassi, Robert Masendi, Kenneth Okongo, Daudi Ssemwami, Alema Ruhweza, Ivan Wavamunno and Haruna Muhammed.

Others are Simon Olet, Kevin Keremundu, Simon Makumbi and Anthony Musimenta, Benedict Misagga, Jude Juuko, Joseph Oyet, Jerome Buyonga, Stallone Arinaitwe and Nathan Bwambale.

Players retained:

Saul Kivumbi, Joseph Tamale, Collin Kimbowa, Eliphaz Emong, Charles Uhuru, Cox Muhigwa, Brian Asaba, Adnan Mutebi, Chris Lubanga, Lawrence Ssebuliba, Eric Mula,Ian Munyani, James Odongo, Santos Senteza,Arthur Mpande and Musa Muwonge.

The others are, Scott Oluoch, John Wandicho, Paul Epilo, James Ijongat, Gerald Ssewankambo, Conrad Wanyama, Aaron Ofoyrwoth, Alex Mubiru, Mathias Ochwo, Sean Baseka, Robert Aziku, Pius Ogena, Fred Odur, Adrian Kasito and Kevin Makmot.

Also Justin Kimono, Ramathan Govulle, Micheal Wokorach, Phillip Wokorach, Ivan Kirabo, Brian Odongo, Asuman Mugerwa, Ivan Magomu James Okello and Marvin Odongo are on the team.
