KCCA are two points away from retaining their Uganda Premier League title.

This comes after the table leaders thrashed Kirinya Jinja SS 5-1 on Saturday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium.

The victory took them to 57 points, five ahead of second placed SC Villa who beat Soana 2-0.

Derrick Nsibambi scored a brace before Sulaimon Akinyemi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Noel Nasassira added others for KCCA.

Sserunkuma extended his tally to 19 goals this season. Bashir Mutanda scored a consolation for Kirinya Jinja through a penalty.

KCCA who are left with three games to end the season need to win their next game at home on Tuesday against Lweza to seal their 12th league title. SC Villa is left with two games to end the season.

Lweza who are second from bottom are still fighting relegation.

The defeat left the Jinja side third from the bottom with 28 points. They need to win there last three games to stand a chance to avoid relegation.

Umar Kasumba and an own goal from John Muwanguzi helped SC Villa to a win. SC Villa's Emmanuel Okwi and Soana's Sirajje Turyamuhebwa were sent off in that match.

At Matugga, Bright Stars settled for a 1-1 draw with Proline at Champion Stadium.

Nelson Senkatuuka put Proline in the lead before Fred Segujja levelled matters for Bright Stars.
