VP Ssekandi tips on God's blessing

The Vice President says building a worship place is the best way for one to thank God and attract blessings to future family generations.

MASAKA - Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has commended Matthias Kalanda Kiiza for sacrificing resources and building for his local community of Kafumuulampawu in Kyesiiga Sub County in Masaka a church, which will serve, other, needs of the community besides spiritual empowerment.

Speaking during the commissioning of the new church, in Kyesiiga sub county in Masaka district, the Vice President said building a worship place is the best way for one to thank God and attract blessings to future family generations.

 

He said the new well-equipped church which has already given a modernity outlook to the area will also be a great motivation to worshippers.

Masaka Diocesan Bishop, John Baptist Kaggwa who presided over the inauguration service said that new churches bring sacraments nearer to the faithful and further promotes religious values and increases cohesion in the community.

Engineer Mathias Kalanda said that the church was built in honour of his mother Sepiranza Najjemba who passed on in 2011 adding that the plan for the area includes a priests' home, a school and a medical facility to support the community.

The Vice President accompanied by Bishop Kaggwa and State Minister for Primary Education Rose Mary Sseninde and the Kalanda family also commissioned a community water project in the area sponsored by the Kalanda family.

The function was also attended by Masaka district Council Chairperson, Jude Mbabali, several MPs from greater Masaka, and officials from Mengo administration.
