Ronald Ssebuguzi won the FMU challenge to shoot to the lead of the National Rally Championship with 250 points, 90 ahead of second placed Duncan Mubiru (160points).

Ssebuguzi navigated by journalist Leon Ssenyange in a Mitsubishi Evo 10 took lead from day one in Busiika when he won the Super Special stage and maintained it till the end.

"It has been good for us. Winning this event has increased our chances of winning the national championship and we shall enter the Fort Portal rally with less pressure," Ssebuguzi stated after the event.

On day two in Kayunga, out of the eleven sections Ssebuguzi won nine sections while Fitidis one and Duncan one before he dropped out.

Ssebuguzi posted a total time of an hour, 24.03minutes, four minutes ahead of Christakis Fitidis who finished second with a time of an hour, 28.05 minutes.

 Christakis Fitidis navigated by Eric Nzamwita in a Mitsubishi Evo 10 finished second while the Hima cement ambassador Ambrose Byona aka Omunyeeto navigated by Derrick Lubambula in a Mitsubishi Evo 9 finished third.

Both Fitidis and Byona congratulated Ssebuguzi for the win and also lauded the organisers, FMU, for the improved organisation.

"It has been a good event that had good closed routes which helped us to end the event accident free and the other few errors are those that can be corrected," Byona Stated.

The event was sponsored by Shell, ICEA insurance, Lato Milk, Safety appliance and Hima cement.
