Gov't allocates sh341b for water production

Government has proposed to allocate a total of sh341b for increasing access to water in the next financial year 2017/2018.

According to documents from the ministry of finance, sh82.9b will be for rural water, sh173.9b for avaling water in various urban areas, and sh84.5b for valley dams and irrigation schemes. 

The investment in water production is one of the government interventions aimed at increasing food production in the country.
