The move to bring in more districts is to grow the event as the only traditional dance competition in Uganda

Lira district, just like Soroti was added to the competition to strike a regional balance. Initially, only Masaka, Mbale, Jinja and all central districts had the opportunity to compete which seemed unfair to other regions.

According to Davidson Wadada, Nile Breweries' traditional beverage project manager, the move to bring in more districts is to grow the event as the only traditional dance competition in Uganda.

"Traditional dances are part of Uganda's heritage. This competition gives us another platform to support the preservation of our cultures. We have added more districts of Hoima, Mbarara, Soroti and Lira to expand this competition's platform and promote our rich cultures" Wadada said.

With the addition of the North and West regions, the competition will definitely have new faces come the grand finale at National Theatre.
