Launch of event-
The ICC World Cricket League Division Three is here! and what a great sense of anticipation in the air following the official launch of the global meet Friday in Kampala.
This is Uganda's moment to impress the international cricketing community and perhaps open up more chances of other major events.
Well, the Uganda Cricket Association is leaving nothing to chance as a local organizing committee has been put in place to ensure a smooth flow of the event.
"The ICC entrusted us to host such a huge International event and we will not let them down.There is need to make Uganda proud and stand chances of hosting more events, so this is our moment to impress" said Paul Kaheru, the head of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

Meanwhile the trophy for the event arrived Tuesday from the USA.
It should be underscored that Uganda painfully missed out on hosting the similar event in 2014, losing the rights to Malaysia over security reasons.
Following another bid, finally grabbed the opportunity and they can only ensure a worthwhile competition. The backing by the government also played key in ensuring the event comes to the country. AIGP General Duties Andrew Sorowen will be on top of the security of the meet.
The tournament is mainly supported by ICC and the UCA .The government is giving the necessary backup especially the security side of it.
The Local Organising committee includes AIGP General Duties Andrew Sorowen (security), Dr. David Meya (medical), Eric Kamara (Liason), Rita Tinka (catering), Hanumant Katkar(stadia) Martin Ondeko (Transport), Alvin Bagaya (Accomodation) and Innocent Ndawula (Media & communications).
The Cricket Cranes are having a good build up to the tournament with a 4-0 white wash of Kenya in the Easter Series the latest engagement.
