UCC extends SIM card registration exercise

The Uganda Communication Commission on April 11, 2017 directed that all SIM cards be verified and validated against the National Identification Numbers (NIN) for citizens and Passports for alien residents within seven days, effective April 13, 2017 to April 20, 2017.
However, the government has directed that the Commission extends this verification and validation exercise to May 19, 2017.
