Pool executive: New date for elections set

Apr 19, 2017

Those that have interest in leadership have already begun picking nomination forms.

KAMPALA - Pool Association of Uganda former president Farouk Kisuze has confirmed the election of a new executive will go down on May 8.

The election process, according to Kisuze, is already underway with the registration of clubs and only pre-existing clubs will be registered.

Those that have interest in leadership have already begun picking nomination forms.

"For those that are interested in leadership positions, they have been tasked with picking nomination forms and have to return them by the end of this week," he said.

They will then be subjected to a vetting process by members of the interim committee who won't be running for office.

Among the requirements for those who will be vetted is a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and a person should have previously held a leadership position with a club.

After the process, those who will have successfully been vetted will be announced on May 1 and an extraordinary assembly will be called on May 8.

"The purpose of the extra ordinary assembly will only be for one reason only: to elect an executive," said Kisuze.

He also made it known that the new executive will have to get to work immediately to try and get the association up and running fast, especially for the league that should have been running from the beginning of March.
