Uganda 0-24 Germany

After a commanding 29-0 performance against Tonga, Uganda lost 24-0 to the number one ranked team Germany, in a match that was meant to determine who took top spot.

The Europeans who were knocked out in the semi-final by Hong Kong last year, are on course to top the table considering their last match is against Tonga.

The Germans who came into the tournament as seed one played as a top ranked team would from the onset. Germany's Phil Szczeny was the standout player; time and again Uganda's defence was left for dead every time he ventured forward.

Uganda was not without their opportunities but some bad decision making by the team cost them at important points in the match.

Uganda's last group stage match is against bottom placed Jamaica who were beaten by both Germany and Tonga in an earlier games.
