Namugenyi has guided Busitema in three University Football League matches

Coach Dorothy Namugenyi was devastated when her team Busitema University surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Makerere University in their opening Nile Special University football League match.

At 22-years of age, Namugenyi's dream is to be the first female coach to humiliate an established name like Makerere University and she was optimistic that the opening match had given her the opportunity that she missed.

She still believes it is achievable. Namugenyi has been playing for Biukwe Red Stars before the team was disbanded last year while coaching Busitema University in the league.

She believes that coaching in the league gives her an opportunity to grow as a coach in the mainly male dominated profession.

"I love equality. I can do anything that a man can do and so I want to be a unique female coach of men's football. Beating Makerere would have been a big plus. I was emotionally broken down when we drew with Makerere but I now focused on the challenge against UCU," Namugenyi has said.

Namugenyi has guided Busitema in three University Football League matches and their only loss was last year when Luweero side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Kampala University and were bundled out in  the quarterfinals.
