Sheikh Kamoga terror defence starts April 25

Tabliq Muslim sect leader, Sheikh Yunus Kamoga, will on April 25 start defending himself on claims of murder and terrorism.

On Tuesday, Justices Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Percy Night Tuhaise and Jane Kiggundu, opined that prosecution evidence overwhelmingly pointed to complicity of the 14 accused men.

Kamoga and his co-accused allegedly conspired to kill Sheikhs Mustafa Bahiga and Hassan Kirya, who were murdered on December 28, 2014 and on June 30, 2015 respectively.

It is further alleged that they also attempted to murder sheikh Haruna Jjemba at his residence in Wattuba, Wakiso district

Prosecution lawyers: Lino Anguzu, Thomas Jatiko, and Rachel Bikhole, and Marion Ben-Bella.

Defence lawyers: Fred Muwema, MacDosman Kabega, Roberts Kagoro, Twaha Mayanja, Alen Kagoya, Sarah Nakacwa, and Charles Nsubuga.
