Ruling on Sheikh Kamoga, co-accused terror case for today

Mustafa Bahiga and Hassan Ibrahim Kirya, who were murdered on December 28, 2014 and on June 30, 2015 at Bwebajja Mosque and Bweyogerere Trading Centre in Wakiso District, respectively.

The International Crimes Court of the High Court is today expected to give its verdict on whether or not Tabliq Muslim leader, Sheikh Muhammad Yunus Kamoga and his 13 co-accused have a case to answer.

Kamoga and his co-accused allegedly conspired to kill Sheikhs Mustafa Bahiga and Hassan Ibrahim Kirya, who were murdered on December 28, 2014 and on June 30, 2015 at Bwebajja Mosque and Bweyogerere Trading Centre in Wakiso  District, respectively. 

It is further alleged that they also attempted to murder sheikh Haruna Jjemba at his residence in Wattuba, Wakiso district.

Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi is chairing the panel of three judges who are hearing the trial. The other judges are Jane Kiggundu and Percy Night Tuhaise.

Prosecution lawyers: Lino Anguzu, Thomas Jatiko, and Rachel Bikhole, and Marion Ben-Bella.

 Defence lawyers: Fred Muwema, MacDosman Kabega, Roberts Kagoro, Twaha Mayanja, Alen Kagoya, Sarah Nakacwa, and Charles Nsubuga.​
