KAMPALA - Jolly Kamugira Kaguhangire has been appointed the new executive director of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) by the agency's board of directors.

She will serve a four-year term renewable upon approval by the board.

Kaguhangire replaces Eng. Dr. Frank Sebbowa whose contract expired in October last year. He chose not seek contract renewal.

His successor joins the investment promotions body from the Uganda Revenue Authority where she has worked for the last 23 years, rising through the ranks to head the institution's operations department for the last eight years.

She has vowed to boost investor confidence and help the agency achieve its five-year strategic plan through which they intend to create a million jobs by 2021.
