African Evaluation workshop

The delegates are to deliberate on how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),known as Transforming our World 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with 17 "Global Goals" with 169 targets between them.

Delegates from 72 countries are in Uganda for a 5-day conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo to discuss mechanism of Monitoring and Evaluation.

The  delegates  are to deliberate on how  the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),known as Transforming our World 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development   with  17 "Global Goals" with 169 targets between them.

According the Commissioner Monitoring and Evaluation Office of the Prime Minister Albert Byamugisha said that Uganda was chosen to host the event because it has the best Monitoring and Evaluations systems (M and E). Africa has two other countries with the best practices South Africa and Benin.

He said that (ME) is good for a country because it helps to know government programs which good for the country and also to know that that can be adjusted to the meet the country's demands.

 

He said that SGDS is spearheaded by the United Nations through a deliberative process involving its 193 Member States, as well as global civil society.
