Ugandans living in Diaspora together with ministries of lands and internal affairs over the weekend discussed land awareness in Uganda and dual citizenship.

The meeting that took place at Marriot Hotel Bethesda in Washington D.C also launched the electronic visa.

According to Florence Kiremerwa, the senior presidential advisor on diaspora issues, there's a lot of forgery in land deals whereas some Ugandans have failed to go back to their home due to illegal immigration issues.

"Some have purchased land from either non-existing landlords or got duped with illicit tittles that could have caveat from the rightful owners or any illegal transactions which might have been effected on the lands in question," she said.

Kiremerwa said the Minister of Lands Hon. Betty Amongi lead a team of technical personnel from the ministry that pledged to provide Ugandans living in diaspora the much desired service of verifying our land titles; and sharing of pertinent issues regarding the land laws.

"At event, the teams sorted out our land issues and the E-Visa/Passport renewal and Dual citizenship processes that are usually cumbersome due to the bureaucracy and red tape back home," she adds.
