Elite League: Kawempe thrashes UCU to open 11 point gap

Hasifah Nassuna notched four goals as Kawempe Muslim thrashed UCU Lady Cardinals 4-1 to extend their lead in the Elizabeth Group of the FUFA Women Elite League.

They now top the group with 24 points, 11 ahead of second placed UCU who have a game in hand.

Nassuna also extended her tally to 15 goals this season.

This was also the second defeat of the season for UCU at the hands of the table toppers. They were beaten 2-1 in the first round of the league.

Esther Kadondi scored a consolation for the Mukono side.

Elsewhere, She Corporates defeated Ajax Queens 2-1 while Western United lost 3-0 to Mutesa Royal in Mbarara.

At Lubaga, Uganda Martyrs beat Eastern Heroes 2-1 while Kampala Queens thrashed London Stallions 6-0.

At the end of the regular season, the top two teams in each of the groups will face off in a playoff to decide the league winner.
