Suspected Kaweesi killers arrested

Inspector General of Police General Edward Kale Kayihura has revealed that some progress is being made in the ongoing manhunt for the criminals that gunned downed Police Spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi together with his bodyguard and driver.

The IGP Kayihura told mourners at the funeral of the slain officer in Lwengo this afternoon, that a number of suspects are already in custody in relation to the Friday murder.

Although he couldn't divulge the number or names of the people so far in custody, Kayihura stressed that unlike what many people have been saying, he and the entire police force are not resting until justice is served .

"Some people have been saying that Kayihura is sleeping; I am not sleeping; the police force is not sleeping," he said.

"Even as we speak now, we have arrested some people. In fact this morning one of them was arrested while trying to run to Congo (DRC).

Investigation, which commenced Friday, have attracted specialists from the US's Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
