The National Resistance Movement (NRM) deputy national treasurer, Dr. Kenneth Omona on Sunday evening survived an attack by unknown attackers.

"A stranger attacked and hit the window glass of the official vehicle of Omona, missing his head by an inch" NRM spokesperson, Rogers Mulindwa, said in a statement.

Mulindwa who didn't commit to sufficient details in his statement said that the incident happened along Tirinyi Road while Omona was on his way back to Kampala from official party work in the eastern town of Mbale.

The statement added that local Police are trying to establish the motive and whether the actor(s) intended to hurt Omona or it was accidental.

"The case has been reported to the nearby Police post for the commencement of investigations," the statement read.

Mulindwa said that Omona had to abandon his official car and look for alternative means back to Kampala.

Efforts to speak to Omona have however proved futile.

Relatedly, last month the NRM deputy secretary general, Richard Twodong suffered a gunshot wound on his way to Gulu when he tried to trail a truck that had been engaged in hit and run incident in which a bodaboda cyclist was killed at Coopelwo trading centre near Bweyabe.
