It promises to be a heated assembly with some stakeholders already showing dissatisfaction

As long serving Uganda Swimming Federation president Donald Rukare vies for another term of office against Tefiro Serunjogi, all his committee members who want to serve with him are also set to face the voters.

Apart from second vice president Abel Ddamulira who has opted not to serve again, all the other top executive members that include; First vice president Peter Mugisha and General Secretary Moses Mwase will have to fight for their places.

Mugisha will fight it out with former treasurer Irene Mudanye while Mwase will vie with Rachael Kituuka for the post of first Vice president and secretary respectively.

With Ddamulira out, Muzafar Muwanguzi is likely to sail through unopposed for the Vice president-Technical post just like Florence Nakakawa who is vying for treasurer.

Athletes' representative Ganzi Mugula and competition secretary Max Kanyerezi might also face the electorate.

Other candidates include Virginia Ssemakula (Assistant G/S) while those vying for committee members' include Williams Buyondo, Enid Katorobo, Lillian Nakijoba and Grace Kiggundu and Henry Musoke.

The electorate is composed of 33 members with only 28 eligible to vote according to the list released on Tuesday by USF General Secretary Moses Mwase.

"Ninenty nine percent of our candidates are technical people and are more representative, not from one club so we expect them to be voted in," Rukare said.

"We have laboured and outlined all the reasons, we encouraged our members to stand and shown how things can be done differently. We believe that all members nominated can ably articulate their philosophy at the AGM if given the chance so we will stick to focusing on the issues as opposed to heralding personalities," a statement from the opposing camp read in part.

It promises to be a heated assembly with some stakeholders already showing dissatisfaction with the books of accounts sent to the members.
