Over 40 Kadongokamu artists were led by Lord Fred Sebatta, Mamuli Katumba, Matia Luyima, Willy Mukabya, Vincent Ssegawa, Gerald Kiweewa, and Kibijigiri among many others.

Kadongokamu artists have teamed up to clean Kabaka's lake at Ndeeba in Kampala in a move to improve sanitation around the Uganda's largest man-made lake.

Over 40 Kadongokamu artists were led by Lord Fred Sebatta, Mamuli Katumba, Matia Luyima, Willy Mukabya, Vincent Ssegawa, Gerald Kiweewa, and Kibijigiri among many others.

Before cleaning up, they met with former Katikkiro, Dan Muliika, who appealed to them to ensure that they produce music that transforms the society.

"Where there is a good thing, there is automatically a bad thing as well. Some of you have resorted to singing and producing meaningless songs but you should ensure that every song you produce has a message to change peoples' mind-sets for the better to transform our society," Muliika said.

He noted that music is one of the most efficient means of changing societies because it reaches far and wide yet the recipients enjoy as they learn.

"Unlike schools which requires students to pay attention to the teacher, with music you can listen as you do other things and it will be up to the listener to pick a point or two so you are very important to the society because you are teachers," Muliika added.

The artists requested Muliika to help them approach the Kabaka on their behalf so that they could perform for him at least once a year.
