Items donated included reams of papers, text books, maps and atlases all amounting to sh3m

In a bid to promote local tourism amongst the young generation, the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has donated scholastic materials to Kigezi High Primary School in Kabale district.

The move came at a time when UTB officials are in the district to support the Gorillas in the Mist Rally.

Among the items donated included reams of papers, text books, maps and atlases all amounting to sh3m.

According to Herman Olimi, the UTB marketing officer, this activity was in partnership with Ambrose Byona, one of the rally drivers and the Miss Tourism Kigezi cluster.

He asked pupils to desire adventuring the country.

"Uganda is the Pearl of Africa, we must be proud of it by adventuring it at an early age. Ask your parents to always support you when you have trips" said Olimi.

Byona asked pupils to always desire to achieve their dreams through focusing on their goals with a lot of dedication and courage.

Rose Atukunda, the current Miss Talent in the Miss Tourism Kigezi appealed to the pupils to realise their talents early enough and to convince their parents to support them in talent development.
