The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has urged parents to do their part in giving children guidance while they are still young and under their care.

Ssekandi who was speaking at the wedding of the NRM Treasurer's daughter's wedding at Rubaga said that once well instructed, children even when they stray in life will always remember their parents counsel.

The Vice President said that life in the world is increasingly becoming difficult and unless one is founded on solid moral values, finds it hard to withstand the temptations of social vices associated with materialistic trappings and financial gains.

He urged the new couple John Bosco Mulwana and Juliet Nansiri to always trust God in all that they do and be open to each other and cautioned them to listen and confide only to a few friends and relatives they trust to avoid suspicion and mystery if their marriage is to last.

He said that marriage comes with relative freedoms but also responsibilities saying marriage is the nucleus of society because it bears a strong influence and impact to the future socio-economic setup of any society.

The function was attended by the Minister for Youth Florence Nakiwala kiyingi, NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi, his Deputy Jane Alisemera, MPs and Officials from Mengo and Central Government.
