Mubiru gets back to basics after loss to Onduparaka

Mar 01, 2017

The defeat was his first in six games across all competitions since joining Police

Police FC coach Abdullah Mubiru has told his players to work hard if they are to achieve their targets for this season.

Mubiru was reacting to his side's 2-0 loss to Onduparaka on Tuesday evening at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

"We need to go back to the drawing board and rectify our mistakes. We lacked transition in the final third when we were playing Onduparaka which I think we need to improve. The loss was a wakeup call for us" stated Mubiru.

The defeat was Mubiru's first in six games across all competitions since joining Police. He replaced Sam Timbe who stepped down.

Police are ninth on the table with 23 points from 19 matches; notching six wins, five draws and eight loses.

They next travel to the Champions Stadium in Matugga to take on Saints on March 7th.
