Rukare promised that his federation will continue with the training programs.

Sports journalists have been trained on how to report swimming events by the governing body (USF).

According to USF President Dr. Donald Rukare, the sensitization of journalists is not only to create awareness of the sport but also bring to an end the challenges journalists face because of the terminologies used in swimming.

"We had to start with journalists because we want accurate reporting with the right terminologies of the sport so that we are helped in promoting the sport," USF president Donald Rukare stated.

Rukare promised that his federation will continue with the training programs.

He also added that they intend to train more coaches and also encourage members to form more swimming clubs so that they can in future be able to accommodate the many talented children leaving schools.

USPA members thanked USF for the workshop which helped them know more about the sport.

"This is a very good initiative to train journalists and we hope that this can also be emulated by other Federations," former USPA Treasurer Sam Mpoza stated.

He also urged USF and club officials to avail journalists with information on their activities to enhance awareness of the sport.
