A mass race has been organized involving anyone wishing to run.

The general public has been given a golden opportunity to get a feel of a World Cross Country course.

A mass race has been organized involving anyone wishing to run.

Organisers announced last week that this will be the closing event of the March 26 global meet at Kololo.

Registration opened nine days ago. Interested runners are supposed to make corporate registration to run on the same course that the national teams will contest on.

Local organizing committee chairman Domenic Otucet explained that the mass race is an opportunity for corporate bodies to be part of the event.

A corporate team of five runners will be paying sh1m, with the money going towards the facilitation of the national team.

"We have limited the registration to only 60 teams on a first come, first serve basis," said the  vice president LOC Domenic Otuchet.

Otuchet  said that there will be a prize for the winning team, which will be a weekend in one of Uganda's top destinations.

"We are trying to help show case Uganda to the world but corporate companies will also enjoy a weekend out. The package will be for the members who will have competed and it will not be transferable," stressed Otuchet.

Registration for the corporates is done through email and paying the money to the Uganda Athletics Federation account at Stanbic Bank.

All the interested corporate companies can drop an email at secretariat@iaafkampala2017.org  and copy it to media@iaafkampala2017.org
"It is a race that will be broadcast live and we need to work on the different administrative issues in time for easy planning," said Otuchet.
