Teso teachers have been cautioned against failure to make lesson plans and schemes of work. Michael Obuya, the Bukedea district Education officer, told teachers to view lesson planning as a tool of achieving the learning objectives in class.

"As professionals it's paramount to plan for lessons as this will help in guiding the teacher, teach basing on objectives of teaching and be able to evaluate the success of the lesson" Obuya said.

Obuya noted that many teachers now days rush to class without lesson planning, an act he condemned as it fails learners academically.

Meanwhile Benjamin Omaluwa, the director of studies at Onset College in Katakwi district said that lesson planning guarantees teachers to manage time, show commitment and aim at achieving the set goal in class.

"Head teachers should take a mantle supervising teachers on lesson planning and making schemes of work" Omaluwa urged.

Despite making lesson plans and schemes of work, Sylvester Ocatum, the regional UNEB supervisor Soroti district urged teachers to learn the individual strengths and weaknesses to lodge solutions geared towards achieving general performance among learners in class.
