Flavia Namakula recovered in time from her recent miss at the Ladies Tshwane Open in Pretoria, to continue building her earnings, after she made the cut in the Cape Town Ladies Open at the Royal Cape Golf Club on Thursday.

Playing in unfamiliar windy conditions in her only 5th outing in the paid ranks, her (81, 83, 84) for a total gross of 248 over 54 holes was enough to see her through yet another tough contest with some cash.

"The courses I've played in Cape Town and Durban have been very challenging; playing into the wind. But otherwise everything is okay.  I've not been playing well. I'm hoping to play better in the rest of the tournaments," Namakula stated.

She is now warming up for the SLT Dimension Data Challenge at George Golf Club, February 17-19, which has over sh90m in prize money.

She is also registered for the Sunshine Ladies Tour Classic at Glendower Golf Club, February 21-23, the Sun International Ladies Challenge at Lost City Golf Course, February 28 and as well as in the Johannesburg Ladies Open and the  Royal Johannesburg & Kensington, March 5-7.

South African golfer Ashleigh Buhai defeated defending champion Lee-Anne Pace at the first extra hole of a sudden-death play-off to win the title and over sh30m cash.
