Lions Club, KCCA to partner on child affairs

The visiting president is in the country for three days
The visiting international second vice president of Lions Club International, Gudrun Yngvadottir, has pledged collaboration with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in improving youth and child affairs, to improve health care and education for the vulnerable in the city.
Yngvadottir made the remarks when she paid a courtesy call to the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago at his parlour.
"We need cooperation in helping children and youth especially in the areas of education and health care" Yngvadottir said.
The visiting president is in the country for three days and will meet various stakeholders including the Hinister of Health, Ruth Aceng and the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga.
Yngvadottir who was accompanied by her husband Dr. Jon Bjiani Thorsteinsson will also meet President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday.

Other engagements that her organisation will be partnering with KCCA on are to create environment and diabetes awareness among the populace.
Lukwago in his remarks welcomed the move and said the cooperation will help address the challenges the authority is grappling with in health and education sectors.
He cited the health facilities and schools in Kamwokya.
