A city businesswoman has dragged Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, in Wakiso, to the High Court demanding compensation to the tune of sh80m.

Jossy Gakumba says she attended a party at Namboole on July 1, 2016 and as she was leaving, she fell into a dangerous and uncovered manhole and broke her leg. She says the manhole had no cover and there was no warning post to that effect, which she says was negligence on the part of the management of Namboole stadium.

Through Waluku Mooli & company Advocates, Gakumba says she was hospitalized for two months at Mengo Hospital. She says this led to the collapse of her businesses, hence losing support for her family and dependents.

Court has given the stadium 15 days within which to file defence before the case is scheduled for hearing.
