Byanyima turns up at Police for questioning

Edith Byanyima, sister of Winnie Byanyima, wife of Forum for Democratic Change former presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has appeared at the Special Investigations Directorate at Kireka for questioning.

Byanyima on two occasions snubbed police summons. She had other urgent engagements to attend to.

Byanyima was summoned by the Police for an interview and to record a statement in connection with uttering sectarian statements and incitement to violence.

Byanyima is alleged to have uttered the statements after a group of legislators and relatives of Kenneth Akena attacked her and her sister Winnie Byanyima for turning up at the High Court to stand surety for Matthew Kanyamunyu, his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu who are accused of killing Akena.
