Strikers Okwii, Kiiza join local sides

Feb 01, 2017

Both have signed on until the end of the season

Uganda Cranes strikers Hamis Kiiza and Emmanuel Okwi have re-joined URA FC and SC Villa from Free State Stars of South Africa and Danish side SønderjyskE respectively.

Okwi had his contract with SønderjyskE terminated after failing to find enough playing time with the club he joined two years ago. It was also the same story for Kiiza who only played a handful of games during his stay in South Africa.

Both Okwi and Kiiza have signed on until the end of the season.

Okwi joins Sulaiman Luzige, Burundi international goalkeeper Arthur Arakaza and left back Farouk Musisi as the new recruits at SC Villa while Kiiza joins Said Kyeyune who was re-signed again by the tax collectors.

Elsewhere, Bright Stars FC also confirmed the signing of four new players; striker Yafesi Mubiru from Express FC, goalkeeper Emma Kalyowa (BUL FC), midfielder Semere Derrick (Kirinya Jinja SS) and Jakech Samson (SC Villa Jogoo).

The Jinja based side has released Baker Lukooya who joined Soana FC.

Soana has recruited Paddy Muhumuza (Lweza), Nsair Mbabali (on loan from Vipers), Franco Oringa (BUL), Muhammed Kayongo (Express) and Bernard Agelle (SC Villa).
