Many people spend so many hours in offices and bars without doing any physical activity

Former World and Olympic champion Stephen Kiprotich has tipped the corporate world to mind more about their health by regularly jogging as a means of keeping a healthy body.

Kiprotich was the chief runner at the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) monthly run that started and ended at Lugogo Indoor Stadium on Friday.

"We all need to keep fit not just for competition but for building a healthy body. We spend so much time in offices hence our bodies are not fit" said Kiprotich.

Uganda's lifestyle has become a worry to the medical world with many people spending so many hours in offices and when they get out office, they head to bars or home without doing any activity, which leads to the increase of non-communicable diseases that include organ-related diseases like heart attacks and stroke.

"You need to care about your life and the only way you can do it is by keeping your body fit by training regularly" he said.

Cynthia Mpanga the PRAU chairperson was happy for the different communication practitioners, who joined the run.

"We started this as a means of trying to help our members relax, keep fit and also network. Seeing Kiprotich run with us is an inspiration not that we can beat him but we have so much to learn from him, mostly his humble beginnings and how he has managed to succeed," said Mpanga.
