The findings of the committee and the recommendations should not be under looked by government

The Association of Private Schools Operators (APSO) in Kampala wants government to implement recommendations made by the visitation committee at Makerere University so as to sort out all the wrangles in the Uganda's oldest university.

When President Yoweri Museveni closed the university in November last year following a lecturers' strike, he instituted a visitation committee to investigate the problems surrounding the unending strikes at the institution.

APSO chairman, Patrick Kaboyo, said the findings of the committee and the recommendations should not be under looked by government so as to find a solution to the problems affecting the university.

"We call upon the visitation committee to expedite the production of its report so that those in authority are in position to work on the recommendations to help the public know the future of the right to education of their children" Kaboyo said.

"The report should not only be a subject to those investigating but should be a public issue" he added.
