Both properties are located in Wakiso district

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, on Friday received two more land titles belonging to Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC).

According to a statement issued by UMSC spokesperson, Hajji Nsereko Mutumba, these titles have made a total of four titles received in a period of one month.

"The two titles are for 0.18 hectares of land located on Block 441, plot 46 at Katabi - Abaitaababiri in Entebbe and 27.13 hectares of land located on Block 17, Plot 2 at Naguru in Namayumba Busunju," the statement said.

The Council also stated that both properties are located in Wakiso district and that the titles were handed over to the Mufti by Wakiso district Kadhi Sheikh Ismail Sebaggala at the UMSC headquarters in Old Kampala.

Mubajje lauded Sheikh Sebaggala for securing the titles and urged other district Kadhis and concerned Muslims to follow suit.

"Do not be intimidated by fake trustees that are formed with the intention of stealing UMSC properties. Any Muslim property that is not registered in the names of UMSC is at risk of being grabbed. The earlier it's registered under UMSC, the better" he said.

He commended all those who have returned UMSC land titles.

"By the time we took office in 2001, there were only 7 land titles. But as of now, we have so far recovered over 500 Muslim land titles," Mufti said.

Sheikh Sebaggala said it was his duty to bring the UMSC land titles at the UMSC headquarters where they belong.

The 27.13 hectares of land in Namayumba has a Primary School, a Secondary School and a Mosque, said the statement.

The hand over was witnessed by the Deputy Mufti Sheikh Abdallah Semambo, UMSC secretary general Haji Ramadhan Mugalu, the secretary for Awqaf and endowment Dr. Muhammad Bowa and the secretary for finance and planning Isa Shaban.
