National team coach Jude Mutete gave the advice

Table Tennis players have been advised to avoid changing coaches all the time if they are to improve their standards to compete favourably in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games qualifiers.

National team coach Jude Mutete gave the advice at the Techno Mobile Open Table Tennis championship held at Kololo Secondary School.

"We are training hard to qualify for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games, but I appeal to you players to avoid changing coaches all the time," Muteete told participants.

"Your coaches know you better and the areas which need improvement, but moving from one coach to another takes you a step back because the new coach starts from zero," Mutete explained.

In the tournament, Florence Seera beat Halima Nambooze 3-1 to win the ladies singles and received a sh500,000 cash prize with a trophy, while Ivan Wamusi beat Alex Wagumire 3-1 to win the men's singles category.
