He condemned the increasing extravagance of some people while organizing wedding parties

Rt. Rev. George Bagamuhunda, the Kigezi diocesan Bishop on Wednesday wedded 33 couples in a mass wedding conducted at St. Peter's Cathedral, Rugarama in Kabale Municipality.

According to Bagamuhunda, the event was aimed at helping couples who fail to make wedding parties get a chance of attaining the holy matrimony.

"Some people say that weddings are expensive and thus resort to living together without wedding in church. This time round we are looking out for such people to get them out of this sin" said Bagamuhunda.

He condemned the increasing extravagance of some people while organizing wedding parties and asked the newly wedded couples to respect and trust each other if they are to succeed in the marriage institution.

In 2016 the Diocese of Kigezi wedded 202 couples and according to Bagamuhunda, the drive will continue until most of the unwedded Christians attain this sacrament.

Wednesday's mass wedding coincided with the confirmation of 111 candidates.
