She said the owners of the vehicle where the seized guns were being loaded are still at large.

"The car owners are still on the run, I am sure that we shall get them any time," she stated.

Acan said apart from Police deployment, her office is coordinating with other security agencies in the district to senstise the locals to fight crime.

On Monday during weekly press briefing, the Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi said the M23 rebel group may be trying to regroup from Kisoro, although Acan says their intelligence doesn't indicate any rebel re-grouping in the district.

"We cannot allow them re-group from Uganda," she stated.

A security person who preferred anonymity told New Vision that on Monday morning, there was a joint house-search for residents along Bunagana border.

Abel Bizimana, the LC5 Chairman said the vehicle where the guns were being loaded into is being held at Kisoro Central Police Station.

Quoting a section of Rwanda media stations, Bizimana said some members of M23 rebel group have started going back to Democratic Republic of Congo.

"Rwanda media has reported that the rebels are going back to Congo and there could be a possibility of them passing through Kisoro. Our security agencies must be vigilant and protect our borders from being accessed by such elements," said Bizimana.
