Henry Mugume treasures his post office box. The resident of Kyenjojo town who has two sons in Europe, says it is the best and most convenient way for him to receive parcels from them. "The post office is still very relevant. When my sons want to send me things, they do so via post office and I receive them here in Kyenjojo. I am so used to it and I find it easy to use," Mugume says. He says it saves him the trouble of travelling all the way to Kampala and believes it is a safer mode of delivery of important documents than e-mails, which are susceptible to cyber-attacks. However, he thinks with more innovations Posta Uganda will keep afloat with the changing world. His call comes at a time when Posta Uganda joins the rest of the African postal fraternity, to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the Pan African Post Union (PAPU). Post offices all over the world are struggling to do business as they face stiff competition from e-commerce based service providers. Post offices were mainly known for handling letters, documents and other physical items. But with digitalization of the mailing system, have resorted to the internet. CLICK HERE FOR MORE
