The National Resistance Movement (NRM) secretariat is to undergo restructure in order to achieve the target of service delivery.

NRM Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, made the remarks while speaking to the central region NRM women's league leaders' conference at the London college of St Lawrence Maya on Tuesday.

Kasule pointed out that NRM secretariat needs professionals who can handle the work of the party professionally and implement the party's manifesto.

"Of course we are going to lay off some workers and the process has already started but we shall first look at those who have failed to perform. We shall remain with the hard working people," Lumumba said.

She added that she wants to remain with a small but efficient well paid team adding that she will stop the business of some bosses at the secretariat bringing their relatives to do party work.

Lumumba further slammed the NRM leaders who are not satisfied with the NRM government saying that they have not gained anything out of this government and said that there is no single government that will put money into people's pockets without working.

She emphasized that under the NRM social and economic transformation, the government is just responsible for putting in place an environment that allows people to work which NRM has done.

Wakiso woman MP also the minister of state for education Rosemary Sseninde said that the NRM leaders have not done enough to help the party because they cry together with other people saying that they have not benefited from this government.

"We are now trying to launch an army that will take the NRM party ahead in the central region and by the time they will leave this place they will not be the same,"Sseninde said.
