Uganda is safe, says counter terrorism boss

The recent murder cases by use of guns are isolated cases, Police counter terrorism director, John Ndungutse has said.

"There is no insecurity in Uganda. The few cases you see are just isolated," he stated.

He said Uganda heightened vigilance following the 2010 Kampala twin bombings which has seen reduction in terror attacks.

Ndungutse warned youth against misuse of social media arguing that some may be lured into terrorism activities.

He made the remarks at the Bafumbira reunion held on Sunday where a number of Bafumbira based in Kampala attended.

Bafumbira World association that organized the ceremony launched a health insurance scheme' for the elderly that targets 65 years and above.

The association chairman, Edgar Niyimpa Mfite, the elderly will have access to free medical facilities.
