Museveni receives new Iranian, British & Chinese envoys

The President welcomed Iran’s bringing in modern medical equipment.

President Yoweri Museveni has received credentials of the newly accredited Iranian, British and Chinese envoys to Uganda.

During the 3 separate ceremonies that took place at State House, Entebbe, the new Iranian Ambassador, Seyyed Morteza, the British High Commissioner, Peter West and the Chinese Ambassador, Zheng Zhuqang, presented their letters of credence to the President.

President Museveni and the Iranian envoy discussed issues pertaining to the desire by Iran to help Uganda improve her medical services by availing modern medical equipment and also getting involved in improving further the agricultural processes.

The President welcomed Iran's bringing in modern medical equipment. He added that Iran should focus on the establishment of the agricultural processing factories in the Uganda.

Receiving the letters of credence of the new British High Commissioner, the President warmly welcomed him to Uganda and wished him success in his tour of duties in the country. High Commissioner Peter West assured the President of the commitment by the United Kingdom to continue helping Uganda to develop her infrastructural system.

President Museveni hailed the continued good relationship between China and Uganda and assured Ambassador Zheng Zhuqang that the Government of Uganda will accord him all the necessary assistance to carry out his duties.

The Ambassador promised that he will do his best to ensure the growing further of the relationship between the two countries.
