Ashaba wins Kenya-day golf tournament

For coming top Ashaba won himself a return air ticket to Mombasa
Morris Ashaba returned 37 stable ford points to win the Kenya Golf Day golf tournament at Kitante on Saturday.
Playing off handicap 5 Ashaba beat his nearest rival Joseph Mawejje by a point and over 200 golfers to the top prize to win his first major tournament this year.
In the ladies category Sung Yi Hong's 42pts were also enough to propel her to victory in the one-day tournament that attracted a record 214 golfers.
For coming top Ashaba won himself a return air ticket to Mombasa while Sung will enjoy a weekend for two at the Lake Victoria Serena Hotel where he will also enjoy a round of golf.
Charles Mubiru and Solomon Kego were the first and second runners up in the men's Group A, whose winner Mawejje will also enjoy dinner for two at Sheraton Hotel. Dennis Tindyebwa, Devish Prakash and George Nkya were the best in the men's Group B in the tournament organised to celebrate Kenya's Independence.

Raymond Mwesige , Saif Champeli and Mark Kabonero were the top players in Group C while the ladies category was taken by Peace Kabasweka who on top of winning the longest drive prize, carded 40 points; five and six better than Gloria Mbaguta and Katy Kabenge who finished second and third respectively.
The tournament was sponsored by Multiple Industries, Kenyan High Commission, Kenya Ports Authority, Bageine & Company, Coca-Cola, Kenya Airways, East African Breweries, Equity Bank, Serena Kampala Hotel, The Sheraton Hotel, Case Medical and Master Power Systems.
