Football: Uganda Parliament through to EAC games semi finals

This is the fourth time in four years that Uganda has made it to the semi-finals.

Uganda Parliament Football team has qualified for the semi-finals of the EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games taking place in Mombasa, Kenya.
 
The team will face the East African Legislative Assembly in the second semi-final to be played at Mbaraki Sports Grounds on Thursday.
 
This is the fourth time in four years that Uganda has made it to the semi-finals.
 
The game will be a repeat of the last EAC games soccer final in the Rwandan capital Kigali where Uganda lost to EALA on penalties.
 
Uganda was ranked second in group A with three points and two goals behind group leaders Tanzania despite having the same points from two games.
 
Hosts Kenya defeated Tanzania 1-0 in the last group match but was eliminated on goal difference.
 
In the preliminary group stages, Uganda defeated Kenya 1-0 but lost to Tanzania 2-1. Uganda qualified because it had more goals scored than Kenya.
 
Meanwhile, Uganda ladies team lost the volleyball game played with Tanzania 2-1 but face the same team in netball Thursday morning.
 
Meanwhile Uganda Peoples Defense Representative in Parliament Gen. Ivan Koreta captained the Parliament team to win Silver in the Inter- Parliament Golf tournament played at Nyali golf club.
 
The team that also had MPs Capt Asiimwe Evelyn and Katooto Hatwib scored 52 points, three points below team Kenya that posted 55 points. EALA captained by Speaker Dan Kidega walked away with bronze.
