The function will be presided over by the chancellor, Dr. John Ssebuwufu and the Education minister Janet Museveni will be be the chief guest.

Vice chancellor, Prof. Elly Katunguka told a news conference that the decision to hold the graduation in December followed a senate meeting and consultation with students and parents.

"We received feedback from parents and students asking us to have the graduation in December, because most parents spend a lot of money during festive season, and by January, they do not have money," he said

Katunguka said in terms of infrastructure, the university received $28m from the African Development Bank under the High Education Science and Technology (HEST) project to set up different structures and now, most of them are at 50% completion.

The structures include; central library, central multipurpose science laboratory block, faculty of engineering workshops, central teaching facility, technical teacher education and capacity improvement facility and renovation of faculty of engineering workshops and laboratory.
