Mityana man beheads 7-month-old daughter

A man who is alleged to have beheaded his 7-month-old daughter is in Police custody in Mityana district.

The suspect, identified as Augustine Mbazi, 25, is a resident of Kyetume village Naliyankanja Parish Bulera Sub County in Mityana district.

Police mounted a hunt for Mbazi who had run away after the heinous act.

The deceased's mother, Joan Naskumbi, had turned up at her in-laws home to seek for financial assistance since she had separated with her husband due to his bad behaviours.

Police spokesperson for Wamala region, Norbert Ochom, said:  "we have visited the scene of crime and investigations are on-going."

He said Mbazi will be charged with murder.
