Friday, YMCA: Game 5

Moreen Amoding snatched a game-high 15 points and three team-mates scored in double digits as the KCCA Leopards defeated the UCU Lady Canons 72-63 in Game 4 of the Pepsi National Basketball League women's finals to level the best-of-seven series at 2-2.

Amoding, a two-time champion with UCU, scored nine of her points from three-point range (where she was 3/7) while going 3/5 on two-point field goals. Martha Soigi added 13 points and nine rebounds for KCCA while Flavia Oketcho and Joy Chemutai had 12 and 10 points respectively.

UCU, who have now lost two in a row, were led by Vilma Achieng with 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively while Sarah Ageno and Rita Imanishimwe sunk 11 points apiece for the defending champions.

Judith Nansobya contributed 10 for the defending champions, who claimed the first quarter 21-15 but were immediately pegged back, going to the half trailing 40-37.

The Canons have had been outplayed in the fourth quarter in the last two games, which suggests KCCA are taking advantage of their lack of depth down the stretch. Nick Natuhereza will have to find a way around that, among other issues, ahead of Friday's Game 5 at the YMCA.
