Premier League: Leaders KCCA face Proline

Coach Mike Mutebi is optimistic that his team is in good form to take on Proline FC this Saturday as the Azam Uganda Premier League resumes.

Table-toppers KCCA FC who have 28 points will face 12th-placed Proline who have picked up 12 points, with one win so far.

"We are anticipating an end-to-end attacking match against Proline but we know how to deal with it," said Mutebi.

"The weekend international fixture against Tusker FC helped me get a picture of the team I will use. We want to finish the first round on top of the log and we believe it is achievable."

The Lugogo-based side hosted and beat the reigning Kenyan premier league champions who are coached by Ugandan tactician Paul Nkata.

"We have had a couple of friendlies during the league break that have kept us in shape and we hope to build on that this Saturday when we face Proline," said Mutebi.

Meanwhile, KCCA FC defender Lawrence Kasadha will be expected to feature at the weekend.

The versatile player will return from a groin injury he sustained a few weeks ago.

"I will get the final clearance from the doctors to confirm whether I will be on the team to play Proline. I feel well and ready to wear the club jersey again," said Kasadha.

His coach believes that his return will help improve competition within the team.

"His return gives us options at the back. Remember Kasadha can play in the middle and at the back. He will add competition for slots in the team as we head towards the three crucial league matches," said Mutebi.

 KCCA are four points clear at the top of the pile, with SC Villa in second.
